It’s a failure

It’s a failure

Dmitry Kosyrev

We endured generously for four days – waited: maybe this weekend prevented the mass media from praising the “summit for democracy” as a great event, which the Joe Biden administration organized Moscow time on Friday and Saturday? But even after the weekend of the fountain, eloquence is not observed.
Search engines are responding well to requests for that very summit. But they give out eighty percent of what was said on the eve of such. We will recall below what was said. In the meantime, let’s note the fact: smart long materials about how great it was to make the leaders of 110 countries read one after another on video speeches in favor of democracy – such materials are uniquely few.
This is called failure. Hard failure. Although the question is what they really wanted. But if they wanted, as was announced, to declare that democracy is forever alive and that now half of the world will shake itself up and rejuvenate it, then they said something, but in response they received silence, behind which lies one thought: boring. The event is missing. There is nothing to broadcast or write about.
Let us recall the mass events on the occasion of… well, at least the centenary of the birth of Vladimir Lenin. Throughout the country and the socialist camp, meetings, sessions and other concerts with orchestras of Russian folk instruments are held, films are shot and performances are staged. The result is the same: boring. Because nothing bright still does not flicker in this chorus, and despite the fact that the person was interesting. And here, among the Americans, not even a person, but a philosophical category, if not a totalitarian religion.
Now let’s remember what the world media said on the eve of this event – it was a whole storm of emotions. And the first thing they noted was that the American Democrats had driven themselves into a trap. If everyone is forced to participate in the roll call (about 200 recognized and unrecognized states), it will be the UN. If you collect only the patented Democr-ats, you will be a scowl of sectarians in a hopelessly authoritarian world.
Well, the organizers found themselves in a trap, although with their 110 countries they were suspended as if in the middle, between two extremes. The list of invitees turned out to be very strange. From the Asian states, for example, they invited the Philippines with their scandalous president, but did not invite the completely pro-Western Singapore : how is that? And the same thing in every region: a cloud of offended and harboring something. And in Russia and China, who were not invited to this event, they first of all noted the obvious: they wanted to divide the world and cause a squabble – and they got it.
It turned out interestingly with the alternative idea of the summit (and it was). It is best expressed by Politico, giving the floor to the super-democrats. From Russia it was Lilia Shevtsova and Vladimir Milov, from other countries something similar. The headline of this roll call of people in white robes is good: “The Biden Summit Will Not Save Democracy. 18 Alternative Ideas on How to Fix It.”
And these speakers all swear at America, accusing it of not crushing anti-democrats around the world as it should, and does not give money and aircraft carriers for this. Everyone says the obvious – by the way, Biden also expressed this idea – that it is necessary to begin the treatment of democracy with the United States itself. But to invite to read speeches should not be high officials, but their mentors. These are the professional democrats.
Here is the answer to the question of why they decided to arrange this video call, despite the obvious absurdities of the situation: because it was impossible to keep silent further. As well as what is still called democracy in the United States with a group of allies. This thing, by their own admission, is in retreat all over the world. A growing number of countries are being labeled as authoritarian or even worse by recognized value gurus. Some kind of shake-up is needed here, starting with the designation of the patient as sick. That is, we have before us the recognition of the failure of the totalitarian religion of the West with the letter “d”, but also a promise to soon begin to do something about the situation.
The question is what exactly. It is clear that just a chain of sad speeches, which no one even quoted, does not give anything. Therefore, the Democratic government in the United States considers this “concert” to be the first step towards something useful, such as a renewed alliance of no one knows who. In a year, the right people will be gathered again, and then everything will be more concrete. Including the guest list.
In the meantime, it turns out that the US administration, in order to demonstrate “leadership”, has prepared a whole bunch of international programs for the summit, some of which have even been allocated money. This is collectively referred to as the “presidential program for democratic renewal.”
It says : support for “free and independent media”, the fight against corruption, support for democratic reformers, the promotion of technology (information first of all) for democracy, protection of “free and fair elections.”
And here a simple and obvious question arises: what was this audience doing before, for how many decades? Yes, the same. They distributed money to their henchmen around the world, these henchmen conducted information campaigns against their governments, appointing such members as corrupt. They waged information wars on the Internet, challenged all and all kinds of elections. The most that can change now is if everyone who wants to be democrats is forced to spend their own money to support this rather old policy. Stop, this has already been done where possible.
We add that the violent imposition of the correct model of democracy on everyone and on everyone led to two results. First: the most fashionable ideology in the world right now, causing cheerful and furious disputes among its own people, is conservatism of various shades, which boils down to a simple formula: leave people behind with your brainwashing, let them live as they want to. Well, about the second result has already been said: somehow now everyone understands that, under the guise of democracy, people are being forced into unbearably boring chewing gum.
