‘The Jolly Roger blows in the wind’

‘The Jolly Roger blows in the wind’

Maxim Sokolov

Traditionally, Russians are compared with a bear, rearing up and starting to break and destroy everything around. “Whom the bear tore in the forest is afraid of the bitch”, “For-est boyar”, “Mikhailo Potapych”. At the same time, domestic self-criticism is observed, which can be found in the fables of grandfather Krylov.
The fabled beast, having great strength, does not, however, have a deep mind, which is why it always comes out like with an industrious bear:
“The crack and knock went through the forest,
And you can hear leprosy a mile away.
Hazel, birch and elm
My Mishka killed a myriad,
But the craft is not given.
“Neighbour, what is the reason for this?
I can break trees
But he didn’t bend a single one into an arc.”
Great was our present surprise when it turned out that the qualities described above belong no less, if not more, to enlightened Euro-peans and even enlightened navigators. Which, with hoots and whoops, went to break the Russian oligarchs who were within their reach. Moreover, it does not take into account any – hitherto declared sacred and inviolable – norms of law.
Movable and immovable is taken from Russian capitalists out of court, and neither their behavior (as a rule, very loyal and cautious towards the current permanent residence), nor even their current status – European citizenship or a residence permit, is taken into account. As, however, in 1941, no one was interested in the membership of the Volga Germans in the CPSU (b) – everyone was deported to Kazakhstan , regardless of party membership and loyalty to Co-mrade Stalin. And just like in 1942 in the USA, no one was interested in the Am-erican citizenship of ethnic Japanese. All were placed in concentration camps. Although the current practice is more peculiar.
First, then there was a uniform war. A la ger com a la ger. Where is the declaration of war now with all the necessary formalities?
Secondly, if you are going to row, then row everyone, and here we are seeing reprisals according to a vaguely defined principle. It may seem that the main criterion is the fat content of the client.
Characteristic here is the fate of M. M. Fridman. A native of Lvov , a prominent figure in the Jewish community, has long been living in Britain, a very smart, cautious and unconditionally loyal person to his new permanent residence, who not personally, but through his employees, gave money to the Russian opposition, in the London party is known as an unconditional English patriot. It would seem that everything speaks in his favor – from the point of view of the Western authorities. If you row him, then who should not row? Nevertheless, they rake in, the accounts are arrested, and after thirty years of oligarchic prosperity, he is preparing to personally sweep his apartment.
Someone in Russia can gloat, someone can sympathize, but for his Russian classmates, one thing is obvious: the bright West, which only yesterday caressed and lured the oligarchs, seducing with the super-reliable preservation of their assets (after all, Anglo-Saxon law!), today is a forged heel , like a sleeping serpent, he will crush him – and he will go away, and he will leave him like that. And nothing will affect the proud forehead of Western politicians.
But this is the same bearish grace. With Friedman and not only with him, grief from the mind happened. As a very intelligent and coldly rational person, he assumed the same properties for enlightened navigators. Whereas ruthlessly disembowelling an oligarch who has not done and was not going to do anything that would be in the least contrary to the further views and establishments of Her Majesty’s government is some kind of caveman nonsense with complete self-exposure. Unless enlightened sailors wanted to declare with all the force of conviction that in fact they were unenlightened pirates in the style of Captain Morgan depicted on the label of a bottle of rum. “The Jolly Roger Blows in the Wind”
Okay, now it’s been declared, and whoever it concerns will know. But what is the use of such a statement – who would explain. And last but not least. Our Western partners did it themselves, without being forced by anyone. It was possible to harm Russia – which they obviously wanted – without the bearish manner, breaking the arcs so that the crackling stopped.
Whether V.V. Putin was deeply (as they say) imbued with the philosophy of martial arts, according to which a blockheaded opponent will harm himself on his own, or it was not philosophy, but simple intuition, or even everything came out by itself – we do not know. But the result is philosophical. By the way, not only with the oligarchs. With people’s media favorites – the same picture. No one directly or indirectly forced the Urgants, Galkins, Dudey, Pugachevs con tutti i frutti to perform in the allegro udiratto genre. which is irreversible. After such an udiratto, it will not work to return to Russia as if nothing had happened and again take all the delicious places. Now there is only foreign cheese, much less nutritious. Yes, and it will no longer be possible to monopolize the cash register. And note that everyone is on their own, on their own. The role of the authorities in ridding the citizens of Russia of people’s favorites was zero.
Perhaps, however, with due skill and endurance, everything, as it were, turns out by itself. And with the oligarchs, and with the Pugalkins. The time has just come.
