According to The Washington Post, the conflict in southeastern Ukraine is entering a new stage. Sources of the publication claim that US and European officials are allegedly observing “a resumption of the build-up of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border.” This situation again triggered “concerns that surfaced in April.” More details – in the material “Gazeta.Ru”.
In the United States and European countries, they again pointed to the “transfer of part of the Russian forces to the border with Ukraine.” Such statements of officials are cited in the material of the newspaper The Washington Post .
According to the sources of the publication, “the resumption of the build-up of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border” has ca-sed concern among some o-fficials in the United States and Europe, who believe t-hat they are recording “un-usual movements of equipment and military on the western flank of Russia.”
Interlocutors of the newspaper also noted that “the transfer of troops again caused concern, which arose in April, when the most significant build-up of Russian forces near the Ukrainian border in years has caused international resonance. “
The West is allegedly observing these movements again in recent weeks – after Russia in mid-September completed its joint exercises with Belarus “West – 2021”. Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov stated that
“The movement of Russian troops across the territory of Russia should not bother other states, since it does not threaten them in any way.”
“The conflict is entering a new stage”
Nevertheless, according to WP estimates, the conflict in southeastern Ukraine is “entering a new stage.”
“On October 26, the Ukrainian armed forces confirmed that they had used a Turkish-made drone to strike in Donbas,” the newspaper writes.
The destruction of the UAV drone was reported in the LPR the day before, on October 30. The official representative of the People’s Militia of the unrecognized republic, Ivan Filiponenko, informed that with the help of this apparatus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were correcting the shelling of the village of Molodezhnoye.
“On October 29, when trying to correct the mortar shelling in the area of ??the village of Molodezhnoye, thanks to the vigilance and coordinated actions of our defenders, an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle of the Mavic-Pro type was discovered and shot down,” he said. According to him, thanks to the timely detection and destruction of the drone, the shelling was stopped, which made it possible to avoid casualties among the civilian population and the destruction of civilian infrastructure.
Also on Saturday, the DPR said that three civilians in Gorlovka were injured in shelling from the Ukrainian side. The Ukrainian Armed Forces opened fire on the outskirts of the Telmanovo village and the Sakhanka village, according to the representative office of the unrecognized republic.
On the same day, the editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian publication “Censor.net” Yuri Butusov wrote that the Armed Forces of Ukraine took control of the village of Staromaryevka in the Donbass and established their checkpoints there. According to him, victims were avoided. On his Facebook page, he published a video in which representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine raise the Ukrainian flag over a road sign with the name of the settlement.
In turn, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied this information .
37 hostages
Nevertheless, the Investigative Committee of Russia is checking information about the illegal actions of Ukrainian security officials in Staromaryevka, who are holding Russian citizens. The official representative of the department, Svetlana Petrenko, noted that after the massive artillery shelling by Ukrainian servicemen, “37 citizens of the Russian Federation were captured and held captive, and there were also cases of confiscation of their passports from Russian citizens and other violent actions.”
Against the background of the assertions contained in the WP publication, on October 29 it was reported that the Ukrainian security forces conducted counter-terrorism exercises in the territory of Donbass controlled by Kiev. The National Police of the country reported that the exercises took place on the territory of the pre-trial detention center in conditions as close as possible to real ones.
The purpose of the ma-neuvers was indicated “to check the readiness of various law enforcement agencies to work in extreme situations, as well as to improve the professional training of law enforcement officers.” According to legend, the conditional terrorists decided to release their accomplice from the pre-trial detention center – a “militant of an illegal armed group.”
Site about “Russian aggression”
On October 19, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine announced the launch of a portal in the country on which evidence of “Russian aggression” will be posted.
“This project clearly illustrates the facts of violations of the territorial integrity of Ukraine by Russia and provides detailed information on 20 cases related to the occupation of Crimea. In the future, the resource will be filled with facts about the outbreak of war by the Russian Federation in the east of Ukraine, ”the department says.
On the portal you can get acquainted with the testimony of eyewitnesses, archival sources, media information, decisions and resolutions of international organizations, photo and video materials, the message says.
The Russian side has repeatedly stressed at all levels that it is not a party to the intra-Ukrainian conflict in Donbass and has consistently advocated the full and rigorous implementation of the Minsk agreements on the settlement of the region’s problem, which it signed as a mediator in the process of a peaceful settlement.
In Donbass, since July 27, 2020, additional measures of control over the ceasefire have been in effect, which were agreed upon by the members of the contact group on resolving the situation in Ukraine. Despite the agreements, from the end of February 2021, an aggravation of the situation began in Donbass. Intensive exchanges of fire resumed on the line of contact, with killed and wounded on both sides.
